The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) is a Scottish Charity dedicated to promoting Scottish Country Dancing with headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. RSCDS has standardized traditional Scottish country dances and publishes newly devised dances each year. Teachers certified by RSCDS have undergone rigorous testing. Houston & District Branch of RSCDS, is a IRC Section 501(c)(3) educational organization. The Branch was organized in 1978. Its mission is to preserve Scottish Country Dancing in America by training dancers and offering local opportunities to dance. Classes and events are held in or near Houston, The Woodlands, Clear Lake, Tomball, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Denton, Dallas, and Ft. Worth. Houston RSCDS classes are taught by RSCDS certified teachers.
